1. In consultation with the Pastor, directs the parish music program by planning, selecting and approving music and musicians for:
a. All weekend masses
b. Holy Days and special liturgies
c. Other Sacramental Rites
d. Funerals
e. Weddings/ 15eras
f. School masses and some weekday masses
2. Conducts, accompanies, or coordinates the music for five masses per weekend, two weekday masses, and other special services.
3. Responsible for scheduling of musicians in Director’s absence.
4. Supervises and schedules all choir, music groups, and other music ministers of the church.
5. Provides all choir, music groups, and other music ministers with general music and liturgical formation.
6. Recruits additional music ministers and leads traditional choir, youth choir and children’s choir.
7. Provides specific training and preparation of individual cantors, accompanists, and other individual musicians.
8. Schedules and manages weekly and additional rehearsals as needed.
10. Coordinates with all parish liturgical music ministries.
11. Reviews and purchases new music as needed.
12. Prepares and administers the liturgical music budget in collaboration with the Pastor and Finance Committee.
13. Prepares worship aids as needed for special liturgies with the assistance of the administrative staff.
14. Oversees maintenance of music instruments and other equipment.
15. Arranges and prepares simple musical scores as needed.
16. Select, prepares, and maintains hymnals and songbooks, music library, files, and recordings.
17. Participates actively in community/parish events.
18. Oversees liturgy committee meetings and participates in regular meetings with pastoral staff.
20. Maintains regular practice schedule on primary instruments.
21. Participates in continuing music and pastoral education through formal courses, workshops, conferences and colloquiums, and regular reading of books, periodicals, articles, and online courses, training videos, event videos.
