What is a servant leader? At Camp Crux, we believe that all of our staff is committed to serving our neighbor as Christ has taught us in the Gospels. As a servant leader, you could serve Camp Crux in one of two ways on our summer staff as a counselor or sherpa.

Our summer camps offer positions within the counselor and sherpa staffs

Counselor Staff (Male & Female)
A Camp Crux counselor is one of two counselors assigned to an 8 person squad (small group) for the entirety of camp. Counselors can expect to:
- Experience a week of personal and spiritual transformation
- Enter into authentic friendship with God
- Learn how to model Christ as a servant leader
- Work directly with middle school students through small groups and outdoor adventures
- Connect with other young people intentionally living out their Catholic faith
- Stipend provided

Sherpa Staff (MAle only)
The Sherpa staff is supportive for making camp run smoothly. A sherpa can expect to:
- Supportive team player providing for the daily needs of camp
- Facilitate activity sessions such as archery and canoeing
- Assist caterer with meal prep
- Responsible to take care of camp chores
- Constantly pray for their fellow counselors and campers
- Connect with other young people intentionally living out their Catholic faith
- Stipend provided

Middle School Girls Week
Counselors (female staff)- The female counselor staff commits to June 18-25, 2026 and stays at the camp property. Here is the schedule for staff training and the camp week.

- Counselor Staff Training: June 18 (5pm) - June 20, 2026 (5pm)
- Counselor's off for Father's Day: June 20, 2026 (5pm) - June 21, 2026 (5pm)
- Returning to camp property on Sunday, June 21 at 5pm
- Camp Crux for middle school girls will be held June 22-25, 2026

Sherpa (male staff)- The male sherpa staff commits to serving the female counselor training (June 18-20, 2026) and the middle school girls Camp Crux from June 22-25, 2026. The sherpa staff stays at the camp property.

Sherpa (male staff)- The male sherpa staff commits to serving the male counselor training weekend (July 3-5) and the middle school boys Camp Crux from July 6-9, 2026. The sherpa staff stays at the camp property.
